JEE ADVANCED

JEE, which is an abbreviation for Joint Entrance Examination is an all India compulsory examination for entrance in various engineering colleges of India. JEE consists of two parts- JEE Main (Earlier IIT JEE) and JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced is an entrance exam for admission into the most prestigious and sought after Indian Institutes of Technology or IITs as we popularly know them. At present there are 23 IITs in India located across length and breadth of India. A complete list of all the IITs with latest NIRF rankings can be obtained here.

Unlike JEE Main exam, JEE Advanced exam is conducted by the seven zonal coordinating IITs- IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee on a rotational basis under the guidance and supervision of Joint Admission Board. The admission of a candidate into Bachelor, Integrated Master or Dual Degree programmes into  various IITs is decided on the basis of his/her performance in the JEE Advanced exam. The decisions of Joint Admission Board are final with respect to all the matters pertaining to JEE Advanced exam and admission into IITs.
